A 4-day, 3-night Komodo boat trip is a rhythmic journey through the volcanic landscapes of the Flores Sea. Using a “Liveaboard” boat as your floating hotel, you transition from rugged trekking to world-class snorkeling.
Here is the detailed flow of the journey, using transitions to highlight the pace of the adventure that Komodo Heaven Tours made for you !
Day 1: The Transition to Sea Life
To begin your journey, you will be picked up from Labuan Bajo and transferred to the harbor to board your Phinisi boat. Immediately after settling into your cabin, the anchor is raised as you sail toward Kelor Island.
Once there, a short but steep hike rewards you with a panoramic view of the surrounding turquoise bays. Following this, you’ll head to Manjarite for your first taste of the underwater world. As evening approaches, the boat anchors at Kalong Island, where you will witness the spectacular sight of thousands of flying foxes darkening the sunset sky.
Day 2: The Iconic Landscapes
Early the next morning, usually before dawn, the boat sails toward Padar Island. Upon arrival, you will trek to the summit to witness the sunrise over the famous four-bay vista. After descending, the journey continues to the surreal Pink Beach, where the sand glows with a soft rosy hue.
Later in the afternoon, the focus shifts to wildlife as you land on Komodo Island. Accompanied by a ranger, you will trek through the dry forest to spot the prehistoric Komodo Dragons in their natural habitat. To conclude the day, the boat finds a quiet cove for a starlit dinner on deck.
Day 3: Into the Deep Blue
Moving forward into the third day, the itinerary dives deep into marine biodiversity. First, you will visit Taka Makassar, a tiny crescent-shaped sandbar that appears only at low tide. Adjacent to this is the famous Manta Point, where you can drift through the current alongside giant Manta Rays.
Subsequently, the boat moves to Siaba Island, colloquially known as “Turtle City” due to the high density of green sea turtles. In addition to the turtles, the coral gardens here are among the healthiest in the park. By nightfall, the crew often hosts a small farewell dinner as you enjoy your final night at sea.
Day 4: The Final Farewell
On the final morning, you will enjoy a relaxed breakfast while sailing toward Kanawa/sebayur Island. Before returning to the mainland, there is time for one last snorkel in the crystal-clear waters right off the pier, which is teeming with colorful reef fish.
Ultimately, the boat makes its way back to Labuan Bajo harbor by midday. Upon arrival, a shuttle will be waiting to take you either to the airport or your hotel, marking the end of your Komodo holiday.
